Review

***One phone call, a coach seat, and four states later, it finally occurs to me . . . I don’t know these people.***

I’ve noticed the reviews on this book are all over the place, but that’s because this trope isn’t for everyone. I, for one, ate this book up.

The relationships she had with each man were so different.

I really loved Teirnan with Noah. The way they connected. The way they joked and bonded. It was just so real and comfortable. They were able to talk to each other. Really understand one another.

Teirnans’ relationship with Jake was interesting. Minus the huge ass age gap and how he was supposed to be a parental figure, they were cute together. I personally think Teirnan just had so much going on in her life that once she felt affection and the feeling of being wanted, she gave into him.

Now, the relationship with Kaleb. I loved everything about him. Yes. He is the misunderstood boy with a traumatic childhood and anger issues. But Teirnan really helped Kaleb grow and learn how to love. They both dealt with similar emotions through their lives from dealing with abandonment. They were both ignored by a parent/parents. They were scared to feel the love and connection they had with each other.

***The truth is . . . it doesn’t matter. I’m going to love him for as long as I can, because that’s what makes me happy***

Throughout the entire book, the 3 men were possessive over Teirnan. They protected her and loved her. They each found who they were and became better people.

I loved that Kaleb and Teirnan got their happy ending. 💜

Highlights

♡ One phone call, a coach seat, and four states later, it finally occurs to me . . . I don’t know these people.

♡ Let’s not be friends. Let’s fight and laugh and make babies someday and go insane, because I’m fucking in love with you.

♡ Avoiding the bad means you risk avoiding the good, too, and I’d rather be hurt than never not feel this.

♡ My mother said the first boy—or man—is a crush. You think you love them, but what you really love is how they make you feel. It’s not love. It’s lust. Lust for attention. Lust for danger. Lust to feel special. (…) The second is to learn about yourself. Your first crush has been crushed. You’re sad, but most of all, you’re angry. Angry enough to not let it happen again. (…) Love. When the lessons of your weakness with number one and your selfishness with number two sink in, and you find a medium. When you know who you are and you’re ready to welcome everything he is, and you’re not afraid anymore.

♡ Rain is passion. It’s a scream. It’s my hair sticking to my face as I wrap my arms around him. It’s spontaneous, and it’s loud. Snowfall is like a secret. It’s whispers and firelight and searching for his warmth between the sheets at two a.m. when the rest of the house is asleep.

♡ She needs a lot, and all of them are things you can’t buy. She needs to laugh and get drunk. She needs to be tickled and cuddled and carried and teased. I don’t want to see her cry, but if she does, I want her to know there’s comfort. She has a home.

Review

Haidyn Jamison Reeves. It outlines his life in four words—killer, Carnage, Spade brother. That’s it. When I say this book had me in a choke hold, I mean it!! Every chapter just sucked me in more and more! Those last final chapters had me literally speechless!!

** A Lord takes what he wants. But like anything else, even he can get greedy and betray his oath. That’s where Carnage comes in. A Spade brother runs their prison for those who have wronged their society. It just so happens to be where the Lords have sent me. **

The way Haidyn spoke to Annabelle had me melting every time.

** So when Haidyn gave me a choice—become his toy or turn me over to the Lords—the decision was easy. I’ve worked too hard to get this far to allow a man to take what I’ve earned. I chose to become his dirty little secret over admitting I failed. **

** It didn’t take long for him to unravel my web of lies, thread by thread, until nothing was left. He took over my life, blurring the lines until I discovered that what I thought I wanted was no longer what I needed. But even in our world, nothing lasts forever. Time had run out. The hourglass lay broken on the floor, shattering not only my future but everything I knew. **

♡ She’s what a man dreams of—dress her up and show her off to your friends, make them jealous of what you have. And then take her home, tie her down, and make her your dirty little whore. Show her what it’s like to be owned.

♡ I’ll tell her she’s a pretty whore while I make her crawl to me with a butt plug in her ass and a vibrator shoved up her cunt.

♡ “Want me to tell you all my secrets?” I give her a threatening smile and go on. “The only way I’m going to talk to you is if you’re naked and on your knees with a gag in your mouth.”

♡ Haidyn Jamison Reeves. It outlines his life in four words—killer, Carnage, Spade brother. That’s it.

♡ He’s a man, and I’m a woman. Of course, he’s going to expect me to crawl to him with my mouth open wide, ready to serve. Based on how wet my thong is, I’d say my pussy thinks that’s a great idea.

♡ I like a woman who fights. One who thinks she can stand up for herself. It just means I’ll have to work extra hard to keep her on her knees. It might require some chains and ropes, but that’s okay. Every woman deserves some accessories.

♡ “I think a part of you wants to be forced to be my whore.”

♡ She’s his toy, his property. His to do whatever he wants with.

♡ I love who I am with him more than I ever loved who I was before he entered my life.

Review

What can I say about this Cat & Mouse Duet. These two are my absolute favorite books. Yes. Zade is unhinged, and slightly insane. Yes he does fuck Adeline with the barrel of a gun. Yes he does cut off her dates hands and leave them on her porch. Like I said. Unhinged. But, he loves her.

** I didn’t mean to fall in love.
But now that I have, I can’t stay away. I’m mesmerized by her smile, by her eyes, and the way she moves. The way she undresses… I’ll keep watching and waiting. Until I can make her mine.
And once she is, I’ll never let her go. Not even when she begs me to. **

I definitely feel like im not supposed to love it THIS much, but I do! And what the hell was that ending??

My god, I devoured this book from the beginning this book is filled with torture, murder and sex and it doesn’t really stop. The angst is top tier.

Adeline is someone I liked instantly. She has life to her personality but the only thing that kind of bugged me a bit was how questionable her life choices were at times. Seriously, the girl had a death wish. Are we really surprised by the ending?

The chemistry between the two is really good and the smut is super juicy.

Coming to Zade, oof..I don’t think l’ve ever had such conflicted thoughts about the love interest. He’s such a complex character. Yes, he’s twisted, man doesn’t know how to approach a girl right, but at the same time he’s doing things that make him to be such
a good person. But he did care for Adeline and protect her whenever he could. You see why l’m conflicted?

Now I won’t deny this book is not for anyone. Either you’ll like it, enjoy it or be disgusted and hate it. There’s no in between. I went in thinking it’s a dark romance but oh boy it really is dark. Some of the things that happen between Adeline and Zade, I’m glad
it’s just a work of fiction and nothing more.

Before you read this book, please read the trigger warnings. There are quite a few of them, and they are definitely necessary.

Highlights

♡ I love storms—I just don’t like to be in them. I’d prefer to cuddle up under the blankets with a mug of tea and a book while listening to the rain fall.

♡ And as much as I love horror films, I have no interest in starring in one.

♡ All I want to do is break her. Shatter her into pieces. And then arrange those pieces to fit against my own. I don’t care if they don’t fit—I’ll fucking make them.

♡ I’ve just found myself a little mouse, and I won’t stop until I’ve trapped her.

♡ I’m not naïve enough to think they’ll save me from the shadow that’s attached itself to me, but I’ll be damned if I become some unsolved mystery if I die.

♡ Men have a unique way of killing my mood every time I come within ten feet of them.

♡ Let me know which stars you prefer. The ones above you, or the ones I make you see.

♡ I want to slap him. But the asshole would probably like it, and then turn around and slap me back. And my dumbass self would probably like it, too.

♡ Sneaking off with random men, little mouse? If I catch his hands anywhere near you, they’ll end up in your mailbox by morning.

♡ My body is just a vessel that my soul inhabits, attached to a shell that it’ll one day leave. And when that day comes, I won’t care to let that shell go. I carry my body around because I have to, not because it’s a choice. But when I possess something meaningful, I’m choosing to hold on to it. Carrying something meaningful in my skin is effortless but holding onto something that I could lose—that takes devotion.

♡ What you’re seeing now is what I see every day. No matter how far I run, how hard I try to escape you—you’re everywhere I go. You’re everything I see. Loving you is like being trapped in a house of mirrors, little mouse. And I’ve never felt so at home while being so lost inside you.

♡ His voice is full of dark promises and dangerous beginnings.

♡ I’ll have her because she’s the first thing that made me feel something good in so long, and I’ve become obsessed with keeping it. I don’t have very many something goods in my life, and I don’t care if it makes me selfish for wanting to hold on to it.

Review

I’1I start with honesty. This book destroyed me. It wrung every last blood, sweat, and tear from my body. It’s a little jagged and imperfect, but beautiful all the same.

I know some may have wanted them to reunite sooner, but I felt like it would be doing an injustice to the realities of human trafficking and to be blunt if I was truly being realistic
she never would’ive been found at all. I truly felt her trials and tribulations were necessary for her development and transformation, and I’m so proud of who she became.

Adeline went through a lot of rape and abuse. So please read the triggers.  They are there for a reason. This book isn’t for everyone.

Zade and Addie have an epic love story, and the journey back to each
other may be long and hard, but that doesn’t make their love story less than. And they certainly don’t need physical intimacy to show how much they love each other.

**Death walks alongside me,
But the reaper is no match for me.
I’m trapped in a world full of monsters dressed as men and those who aren’t as they seem. They won’t keep me forever. I no longer recognize the person I’ve become, and I’m fighting to find my way back to the beast who hunts me in the night. They call me a diamond, but they’ve only created an angel of death.**

Highlights

♡ Heaven isn’t a place you go to when you die, it’s inside the person that’s worth dying for.

♡ Without you, I will shatter. But with you, I am indestructible.

♡ You and I will never end, little mouse. Even when we’re six feet under, and our bones are dust, I will haunt your soul until it aches to be free of me. And then, I will hold you tighter.

♡ Scars only serve as reminders of what we’ve survived, not what killed us.

♡ You saved me. Even when we were apart, you saved me. And I hope to God you never stop hunting me.

♡ You’ll always be safe with me, little mouse. Always.
